Community Living Specialist (DSP/Caregiver) Full Time 2nd shift - Weston

About the role

As a Direct Support Professional, you will assist individuals in developing skills for independence, applying coping strategies, and enhancing their quality of life. This role involves supporting daily living activities while maintaining the dignity of those you serve.

Responsibilities

• Assist and teach skills that promote independence and involvement in all aspects of life
• Utilize consumer strengths to build new skills, achieve goals, and enhance quality of independent living
• Assist consumers in developing and applying coping skills
• Suggest changes to improve consumer lifestyle
• Assist with in-home leisure activities
• Administer medications as needed
• Prepare and plan meals
• Transport consumers as required
• Follow individual service plans
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Acceptable Background Character Verification
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for consumer transport
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Physical ability to twist, turn, squat, bend, reach, pull, push (from high/low positions), raise arms above shoulder, walk, sit (chair and floor), climb stairs, and use hands and fingers
• Basic English communication skills
• Basic reading, writing, and internet navigation skills
• Experience supporting individuals with a variety of disabilities, including those with mental health and challenging behaviors

Pay

Starting wage: $18.50 per hour. $1.50 per hour shift differential for weekend hours.
