Community Lending Officer

About the role

We are seeking experienced Mortgage Originators for a Community Lending Officer role to support our diverse communities. The Community Lending Originator supports educational activities, outreach efforts, and the full-cycle lending process for all Washington Trust clients, and potential clients, with a concentration on first-time home buyers and customers in designated CRA lending areas.

Responsibilities

• Support educational activities and outreach efforts
• Develop and maintain community relationships
• Assist home buyers with grants and residential loan products
• Grow through referral networks to meet minimum monthly production goals
• Work with low to moderate income borrowers
• Communicate effectively and present confidently
• Develop strong community relationships with non-profit agencies, community development corporations, and local groups

Requirements

• 3+ years of mortgage origination experience
• Proven record of developing networks, attracting new clients, and sales delivery
• Experience working with low to moderate income borrowers
• Strong communication, public speaking, and presentation skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Fluency in Spanish preferred
• NMLS required

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of the mortgage industry, products, lending practices, and guidelines
• Ability to grow through referral networks to meet minimum monthly production goals of $750k
• Focus on servicing low and moderate income borrowers
• Strong communication, networking, and analytical skills

Pay

Estimated annual earnings range from $78,000 to $250,000 (based on meeting production standards and historical results; higher earnings possible with top performance).
