Community Intern, San Gabriel Valley

About the role

The Community Intern role at Yelp focuses on engaging with local small businesses and customers through various activities and digital marketing initiatives. This position offers a 6-month development program where interns collaborate with a local Community Manager and a cohort of peers.

Responsibilities

• Work with your Community Manager to understand your market and prioritize effective messaging
• Help plan and execute events such as remarkable parties, local meet-ups, and happy hours
• Create and organize social media content that aligns with regional goals around growing channels and boosting engagement
• Maintain Yelp’s local online business listings via the app and website by flagging photos, identifying media alerts, and ensuring accurate business information
• Engage with Yelpers via the app/website in various ways to support online community building

Requirements

• Current college student, college graduate, or someone interested in a community building role
• Reside in the San Gabriel Valley with reliable transportation
• At least 21 years old
• Considered a local expert with knowledge of trends in the area and passion for small businesses
• Experience and interest in planning and coordinating events
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Well organized and attentive to detail
• Experience with social media copywriting and asset coordination
• Flexible to work 10-19 hours per week, Monday through Friday with potential weekend work
• Able to lift up to 10 pounds without assistance

Qualifications

• Compensation range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
• Actual salary offered may vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, an individual's location and experience
