Community Intern, Queens

About the role

The Community Intern role is part of Yelp’s Community team, which operates in markets across the United States and Canada. Our team focuses on highlighting the best local businesses through various initiatives, including events, partnerships, and social media campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Work with your Community Manager to understand your market and develop effective messaging strategies
• Help plan and execute events such as remarkable parties, local meet-ups, and happy hours
• Create and organize social media content that aligns with regional goals and boosts engagement
• Maintain Yelp’s local online business listings by flagging photos, identifying media alerts, and ensuring accurate information
• Engage with Yelpers through the app and website in various ways to build excitement about local happenings

Requirements

• Current college student, recent college graduate, or someone interested in transitioning to a community building role
• Resides in Queens, NY with reliable transportation
• Aged 21 or older
• Local expert with knowledge of trends in the area and passion for small businesses
• Experience and interest in event planning and coordination
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Well-organized and detail-oriented
• Experience with social media copywriting and asset coordination
• Flexible to work 10-19 hours per week, Monday through Friday with potential for weekend work
• Able to lift up to 10 pounds without assistance

• Compensation range: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
