About the role

You will join a six-month development program where you will work with a cohort of peers and a local Community Manager. Your responsibilities include understanding your market, planning and executing events, managing social media content, maintaining local business listings, and engaging with the Yelp community.

Responsibilities

• Work with your Community Manager to understand your market and prioritize effective messaging
• Help plan and execute events such as remarkable parties, local meet-ups, and happy hours
• Create and organize social media content that aligns with regional goals around growing channels and boosting engagement
• Maintain Yelp’s local online business listings via the app and website by flagging photos, identifying media alerts, and ensuring accurate business information
• Engage with Yelpers via the app/website in various ways to support online community building

Requirements

• Current college student, recent college graduate, or someone interested in transitioning to a community building role
• Reside in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with reliable transportation
• At least 21 years old
• Considered a local expert with knowledge of trends in the area and passion for small businesses
• Experience and interest in event planning and coordination
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Well-organized and detail-oriented
• Experience with social media copywriting and asset coordination
• Flexible to work 10-19 hours per week, Monday through Friday with potential weekend work
• Able to lift up to 10 pounds without assistance

Qualifications

• Compensation range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
• Actual salary offered may vary based on multiple factors, including location and experience
