About the role
Make an impact by joining ServiceSource, a champion for people with disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will create, lead, and support assigned participants in their daily programming in academic, social, life, and leisure skills, as well as recreational activities. You will assist in developing and implementing Person-Centered Individual Service Plans (ISP) and ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulatory guidelines, including Medicaid, Licensure, and CARF.
Responsibilities
- Provide active engagement and support for all individuals assigned, including community integration/inclusion, training, leisure, communication, mobility, behavior management, personal care (feeding, etc.), bus loading/unloading, medication, safety, and risk management.
- Implement Person-Centered Plans (PCP) outcomes, support activities, and protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment, proper documentation, and progress.
- Maintain accurate information and documentation for the PCP, quarterly reports, and daily notes.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment; report unsafe conditions, medical concerns, or incidents immediately to the Program Manager.
- Follow established written protocols and plans; report allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation according to ServiceSource policy.
- Complete incident reports as required and maintain accurate records per PCP, regulatory, and company standards.
- Communicate with family members, guardians, authorized representatives, and Support Coordinators regarding participant illness, incidents, or progress.
- Maintain participant records, daily notes, and quarterly reports per Medicaid, Licensure, and CARF standards.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and participate in the PCP process (planning, quarterlies, daily notes).
- Utilize appropriate behavior intervention techniques, proper lifting, feeding, and transferring techniques as written.
- Complete and pass the Orientation to Developmental Disabilities (ODD) test and competencies.
- Participate in department, participant, and staff committee meetings, as well as required trainings.
Requirements
- A High School diploma (or GED) is required, plus one (1) year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or a related field.
- Preferred: High School diploma (or GED) plus a combination of college-level courses in human services and experience, or a bachelor’s degree in human services with experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

- Ability to interpret written and oral instructions and demonstrate good judgment and decision-making.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing professionally written PCPs and supporting documentation.
- Ability to initiate and lead age-appropriate and engaging activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical ability to support individuals with personal care (feeding, toileting, transferring, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer programs.
- If driving participants, must possess a valid driver’s license and pass online driving training.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear.
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, lift, or move products and supplies up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment is usually quiet, with noise levels representative of a typical office or program setting.
Pay
$18/hour
Schedule
Consistent weekday schedule with no evenings or weekends required.
