About the role
This position provides person-centered job coaching and community supports services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The incumbent supports individuals in developing, maintaining, and enhancing employment skills and meaningful community participation in integrated settings.
Responsibilities
- Deliver services in community and employment environments focusing on skill development, independence, self-advocacy and social inclusion
- Monitor individual progress towards identified goals
- Provide support as needed to ensure health, safety and emotional well-being during services
- Complete documentation on services provided, individual progress, and outcomes in accordance with agency requirements
- Provide services in a 24/7 setting with various working hours, including weekends

Adult individuals who are developmentally disabled and could display behavioral challenges and/or medical challenges.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities
- Experience working with individuals who are mentally and physically disabled and/or display behavior challenges
Requirements
- This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and is conditional pending results
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License
- Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment
- Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training is required
Working conditions
- Work is performed in an office setting as well as in the community-based homes of the individual
- Position requires the ability to lift/push/transfer and/or carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 100 pounds with assistance
- The incumbent may be exposed to unpredictable violent behavior of the individual
- Daily driving is required to meet the needs for individuals served
- Occasional overnight stay may be required
- Specific geographic location for this position will vary depending on agency needs and utilization
- Exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching are essential functions of this job
Pay
$17.00 - $25.49 Hourly / $35,350 - $53,024 Annually. This position is a Pay Band C2.
