Community Impact Coordinator
Job Summary
The Community Impact Coordinator at The Pryde, an LGBTQ+ affirming senior community, is responsible for developing and implementing educational, social, and empowering on-site programming that enhances the quality of lives for residents while improving overall property operations. They provide resources and referrals for residents to community agencies and programs that will help meet their needs and aid them in being successful tenants. They ensure compliance with any and all reporting agencies.
About the Role
The Pryde is a new LGBTQ+ affirming community for seniors in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood. It features 74 apartments, some set aside for those experiencing homelessness, with modern amenities and shared spaces. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Social Services or a related field, or two to three years of relevant experience, along with a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates the implementation of supportive service plans and the delivery of needed and appropriate programming and services at all assigned properties.
- Maintains compliance with supportive service program requirements specific to each development.
- Ensures that each assigned property is meeting the PMC Scorecard requirements and that all PMC, state and federal reporting is completed on-time.
- Assesses residents' needs and facilitates access to services and/or provides resources for residents.
- Edicates residents on lease obligations to assist them in being more successful tenants.
- Proactively addresses rental delinquency issues, housekeeping issues, and resident-related issues which could attribute to high resident turnover or property damage.
- Identifies, networks, and collaborates with community agencies to provide programming and services that will educate and enhance the quality of the residents' lives.
- Works closely with management to assist with resident issues and concerns.
- Aids residents with seeking out eligibility programs, resources, and required documents related to their housing stability.
- Acts as a liaison to the larger community to ensure collaboration and partnerships to improve overall property functions.
- Partners with LGBTQ Senior Housing on site to manage the building, programs, and services.
- Consistently and frequently collaborates with local police to ensure enhanced safety and security of residents and employees.
- Oversees scheduling and management of the community space utilized by external community groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or related field or two to three years of experience in the Social Service field or related area.
- Valid driver’s license, an insured vehicle, and the ability to travel (between properties, on-call emergencies, trainings, etc.).
- Experience working with the LGBTQ community, seniors, and people experiencing housing instability.
Qualifications
- Ability to work periodic flexible hours is required.
- Ability to travel by plane and automobile is required.
- Ability to work at property locations within or near transitional neighborhoods - again with the support of PMC.
- Ability to climb stairs, take elevators, bend, squat, and reach overhead.
