About the Role

This position involves originating portfolio loans, government loans, HELOCs, and fixed rate loans for the secondary market, with a focus on promoting the Bank’s CRA lending efforts and expanding mortgage opportunities in targeted communities.

Responsibilities

  • Originate portfolio loans, government loans, HELOCs, and fixed rate loans sold on the secondary market.
  • Generate residential loans in targeted areas by actively promoting the Bank’s CRA lending efforts.
  • Identify customer needs, analyze loan requests and financial data, and recommend mortgage loan products.
  • Participate in and lead community events to build relationships with Realtors, builders, community action groups, and others in targeted areas.
  • Join and establish relationships with non-profits, Board of Realtors, Home Builders Associations, city/state housing agencies, and public forums to increase first-time buyer and CRA lending opportunities.
  • Host local home buyer education events and provide training for bank partners, Realtors, builders, and non-profits on programs and products for local housing needs, especially first-time home buyers.
  • Minimize risk exposure by ensuring compliance with federal, state, and internal regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the mortgage industry, products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines, with a focus on programs beneficial to local communities.
  • Follow Park National Bank’s lending policies, procedures, and underwriting requirements.
  • Adhere to the Bank’s compliance requirements, risk management concepts, policies, and procedures in daily tasks.
  • Deliver high-level service within the Bank’s Serving More standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in mortgage lending: processing, underwriting, closing, and originating.
  • NMLS SAFE Act Registration or ability to register within 30 days required.

Schedule

This is a salaried, exempt position requiring availability beyond traditional office hours, including evenings and weekends. Travel is required to meet with clients, Realtors, and community leaders. A flexible work arrangement (office and remote) is available. Candidate must live within 50 miles of Charlotte, NC.
