Responsibilities

• Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
• Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
• Make yourself available to staff at clinical agencies.
• Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their performance based on course objectives.
• Be available for student remediation as required.
• Orient and maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with assistance from agency/clinical personnel.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students’ knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
• Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
• Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and the College.
• May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
• Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
• Work with college administration, staff, and faculty to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.
• Participate in the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental and campus policies.
• Serve as a professional role model in areas such as customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism.
• Utilize relationship skills in group problem-solving, consensus-building, and negotiation.
• Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
• Report to the dean or assistant dean; a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (Required).
• 2+ years of experience within the last five years in the practice of Maternal Child as a registered nurse (Required).
• Professional Nurse licensure in the state of New Jersey (Required).
• Excellent communication skills with a high level of initiative and prudent judgment.

Pay

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on factors such as the type of course taught, geographic location, licensure, certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibility.
