Responsibilities

• Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
• Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to individuals or groups.
• Make yourself available to staff at clinical agencies.
• Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their performance based on course objectives.
• Be available for student remediation as required or needed.
• Orient and maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with assistance from agency/clinical personnel.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students’ knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
• Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
• Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and the College.
• May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
• Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
• Work with college administration, staff, and other faculty members to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.
• Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental and campus policies.
• Serve as a professional role model for faculty, staff, and students in areas such as customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism.
• Utilize relationship skills in situations requiring group problem-solving, consensus-building, and win-win negotiation.
• Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
• Report to the dean or assistant dean; a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (Required).
• 2+ years of experience within the last five years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse (Required).
• Professional Nurse licensure in the state of New Jersey (Required).
• Excellent communication skills with a high level of initiative and prudent judgment.

Pay

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as the type of course taught, experience, geographic location, licensure, market factors, and departmental budgets.
