Responsibilities
- Displays a congenial, warm acceptance for all individuals.
- Assesses and observes the person’s skills development.
- Alerts to the expressions of attitudes, feelings, and relationships of each individual.
- Develops an awareness of the individual’s needs through observation, interaction, and consultation.
- Supports the person in navigating the program and identifying incentives for learning new skills and behaviors.
- Engages primary caregivers and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
- Implements problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, and outcome review and strategy revision using the model's Analytic process (Brief Family Systems Therapy and Parental Management Training).
- Develops Valued Outcomes with steps on how to achieve them based on caregivers/community supports and behaviors observed along with child/adolescent strengths.
- Meets with the assigned children/adolescents for 1-2 times per week, depending on the child/adolescent’s coordinated hours.
- Travels to the borough assigned.
- Attends supervision and training as required.
- Knows and protects individual’s rights.
- Documents each training session in the appropriate databases and reports the progress and barriers with each client.
- Receives consultation and supervision from the Community Habilitation Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in relevant field.
- Licenses/Certifications: License/Certification required.
