About the role

Join a respected charity at a pivotal time and help grow vital community income across the North Midlands and Scotland. This is a hands-on role for a motivated fundraiser who enjoys building relationships, delivering events, and providing outstanding supporter care. Working on a hybrid basis with two days per week in Sheffield, you’ll play a key part in connecting local communities with a cause that makes a tangible difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate a calendar of community fundraising events and activities across the North Midlands and Scotland.
  • Support, steward and motivate individual fundraisers, community groups and corporate supporters to maximise their fundraising potential.
  • Manage and update the CRM and donor database to ensure accurate recording of supporter interactions, income and event activity.
  • Cook up and manage logistics for community events, including venues, materials, volunteer support and risk assessments.
  • Develop tailored fundraising materials and communications to engage and retain community supporters.
  • Provide timely, high-quality supporter care, responding to enquiries and ensuring a positive experience at every touchpoint.
  • Monitor income and activity performance, producing regular reports and insights to inform future planning.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align community fundraising with wider campaigns and brand messaging.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in community fundraising or a closely related fundraising role.
  • Demonstrable track record in planning, managing and delivering fundraising events and activities.
  • Strong CRM and donor database management skills, with experience of maintaining accurate records and generating reports.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a wide range of supporters.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple projects across a wide geographic area.
  • High standard of written and verbal communication, with confident presentation skills.
  • Able to work on a hybrid basis with two days per week in Sheffield and travel across the North Midlands and Scotland as required.
  • Comfortable working to income targets and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within a charity or non-profit fundraising team.
  • Familiarity with fundraising regulations and best practice in supporter care.
  • Experience of virtual or hybrid fundraising events and digital engagement.
  • Knowledge of the North Midlands and Scotland fundraising landscape and local networks.
  • Competence in using email marketing tools or basic design software to create supporter communications.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in fundraising, marketing, events or a related field.
  • Formal fundraising training or certification (e.g. Institute of Fundraising) preferred.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in fundraising, events or supporter engagement.
