Position Summary
The Community Engagement Recruiter is responsible for building strong local partnerships and developing creative outreach strategies to attract mission-driven candidates to Beacon Specialized Living.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations including churches, high schools, community colleges, universities, workforce development agencies, veterans’ groups, and employment offices.
- Represent Beacon at community events, job fairs, and volunteer initiatives to promote employment opportunities.
- Partner with faith-based organizations to share open positions through bulletins, newsletters, job boards, and job fairs.
- Collaborate with local community leaders to identify new recruitment channels and creative outreach opportunities.
- Create and maintain a calendar of outreach events and engagement activities across Southwest Michigan.
- Generate candidate leads for Direct Support Professional (DSP) and related roles through local networking, community referrals, and outreach events.
- Track leads, conversions, and hiring outcomes to evaluate outreach effectiveness.
- Partner with Recruiting and Onboarding teams to ensure candidate handoff and communication are seamless.
- Support the development of marketing materials and social media content to promote community engagement activities and hiring events.
- Attend workforce development meetings and maintain a visible presence within local employment networks.
- This position does require travel throughout MI.
Education And Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in recruiting, community outreach, marketing, or related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Self-starter who enjoys networking, relationship-building, and working independently in the field.
- Familiarity with local community resources, schools, churches, and workforce agencies preferred.
