Community Engagement Manager
The Opportunity
This is a field-based business development role. Most of your time will be spent meeting with referral partners, attending community events, and building relationships throughout Montgomery County.
What You'll Do
- Develop and lead our referral partnership strategy by developing relationships with hospitals, discharge planners, case managers, physicians, assisted living and senior living communities, rehabilitation facilities, and other referral sources.
- Represent Senior Helpers of Silver Spring through face-to-face visits, presentations, health fairs, chamber events, networking opportunities, and community outreach that build awareness and generate referrals.
- Own the full referral pipeline—from first contact to long-term referral partner—using our CRM to track outreach, follow-up, conversion, and relationship growth.
- Respond promptly and personally to referral source requests and family inquiries, ensuring every prospective client receives exceptional service.
- Support the client intake process by conducting occasional in-home consultations and assessments, educating families on our services, and coordinating a seamless transition to care.
- Shape our local marketing presence by partnering with leadership on messaging, promotional materials, and community visibility to ensure a consistent brand experience.
- Track and report outreach activity, referral pipeline health, partnership growth, assessments, client conversions, and other key performance metrics.
- Partner closely with our care operations team to ensure every referral transitions smoothly from initial inquiry through the start of care.
What We're Looking For
- Proven success in outside sales, business development, and referral relationship management; healthcare, senior care, or home care experience preferred.
- Established network in the Silver Spring/Montgomery County senior care community is a plus.
- A relationship-driven hunter who enjoys opening doors, earning trust, and growing long-term partnerships.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable being measured by performance.
- Confident engaging with healthcare professionals, referral partners, and families.
- Highly organized with strong follow-through and CRM skills.
- Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $50,000 plus uncapped commission based on new client acquisition and referral growth.
- Top performers can earn $100,000+ annually.
