Summary

The Community Education Coordinator I establishes positive relationships with referral sources, enhances knowledge of the agency and its services in the community and among professional groups, and supports the organizations attainment of strategic goals consistent with regulatory, and agency policies, procedures, and standards. Assists Community Education Manager with community and marketing activities in the service area. Liaison between referral sources and clinical team. Collaborates with the Public Relations & Communications Specialist to ensure social media and print communications meet organizational mission and branding requirements.

Schedule

24 Hours Weekly/ 48 Hours Bi-Weekly. Flexible on days of the week and times. The schedule of three, eight hour days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday is preferred.

Pay

\$23.50 Hourly, Part-Time Non-Exempt Position

Location

Will be based out of the Patient Services Office located at 204 North Halfway Road, Marion, IL 62959. Will travel within all of the counties of our Marion offices service area. This position has access to use the Company Vehicle for company related business. If the company car is not available for use, you would receive Mileage Reimbursement of .70 cents per mile for driving your personal vehicle.

Essential Functions of the Community Education Coordinator I Position

  • Effectively fosters collaborative and positive relationships through trust and attentive listening skills, which enhance the organization.
  • Proactively seeks out engagement opportunities with referral sources and community partners to continually grow relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively prioritize referral sources.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt communication and relationship-building strategies to meet the needs of diverse referral sources and community partners while serving as a liaison between referral sources and the Hospice of Southern Illinois team.
  • Effectively educate the community and referral sources on the benefits of hospice care while developing relationships with potential referral sources to increase awareness of Hospice of Southern Illinois and its services.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work autonomously and efficiently.
  • Represents Hospice of Southern Illinois professionally while promoting the organization's mission, services, and values during community outreach activities, educational programs, and networking events.
  • Monitor community needs, referral trends, and educational opportunities within assigned territories, communicating observations and recommendations to the Community Education Manager.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining organization, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Effectively uses the team approach to achieve organizational goals.
