Job Duties

  • Plan and implement outreach activities and events to increase awareness and participation.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community partners to support coordination and referrals.
  • Develop and distribute educational materials and outreach resources.
  • Assist in identifying priority populations and support referrals to program services.
  • Document outreach activities and maintain records to support reporting and program monitoring.

    • Community outreach and public health engagement practices
    • Environmental health concepts and prevention strategies
    • Community resources and service networks
    • Basic program planning, implementation, and evaluation
    • Effective communication approaches for diverse populations

    • Conducting outreach, presentations, and community engagement activities
    • BUILDING AND MAINTAINING PARTNERSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS
    • Written and verbal communication
    • Coordinating events and outreach efforts
    • Documenting activities and maintaining organized records
    • Using standard office and data management tools
  • Ability to:
    • Communicate effectively with diverse audiences
    • Establish and maintain positive working relationships
    • Manage multiple tasks and priorities
    • Work independently and collaboratively

    Selective Preference(s)

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, Community Health, Social Work, Communications, or a related field and two (2) years of professional experience in public health outreach, community engagement, health education, or a related area.
    • Experience working with community-based organizations, schools, healthcare providers, housing programs, or other community service networks.
    • Experience supporting outreach, education, or engagement efforts in a public health or community-based setting.
    • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or similar certification preferred.

    Retirement

    • The State of Arizona makes monthly contributions to finance your retirement benefit. The State will contribute to the ASRS in an amount equal to your contribution. In other words, you and the State will each pay 50% of the total cost of the benefit. New State employees have a 27-week wait period for contributions to begin.
