Part-time, non-exempt position starting at $17.00 per hour, reporting to the Recreation Supervisor – Community Center Operations at the Eden Prairie Community Center (16700 Valley View Rd, Eden Prairie, MN 55346). Building operating hours are 5:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., seven days a week. Shifts include but are not limited to 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and respond to the needs of internal and external customers by providing useful information or alternative resources; ensure Community Center operations exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage membership and program registration alongside customer service staff.
  • Provide work direction to the Customer Service team and other part-time staff to deliver excellent customer service in-person and on the phone.
  • Support the Park and Recreation Department with patron relations, registrations, reservations, meetings, events, and programs.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as IT support, word processing, data entry, filing, cash handling, bookkeeping, record management, and account maintenance.
  • Monitor all activities throughout the building during after-school hours to ensure safety compliance by all users.
  • Perform a variety of additional duties as part of a team-oriented work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive experience in a customer service/office support role.
  • Administrative support experience including program registration, membership management, data entry, word processing, and record management.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); experience with RecTrac software preferred.
  • Ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 10 lbs frequently, 10–20 lbs occasionally, and over 30 lbs on a limited basis; ability to bend, stand, and reach.
  • Most work is performed in the Community Center in play areas or at a workstation; occasional travel to other recreation buildings may occur.
  • Must successfully complete the City’s pre-employment process, including professional reference checks, background check, work history verification, and education verification (if applicable).
