Responsibilities
- Represent Give Us The Floor at local events, conferences, school programs, after-school programs, community gatherings, and fundraising events, etc.
- Actively develop partnerships with New Mexico–based organizations that serve youth and/or 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.
- Meet with schools, after-school programs, colleges, Recognized Student Organizations, and community organizations to share our free supportive program.
- Participate in occasional public speaking or panel opportunities.
- Offer feedback and ideas on organizational direction, programs, and materials, especially as they relate to NM youth.
- Attend at least two virtual Youth Advisory Board meetings per year.
- Set up, tabling, and tear-down at events (must be able to lift up to 40 lbs).
- Be the face of youth in GUTF marketing materials, including social media, videos, and website features.
- Capture photos and video content for social media from local events.
Requirements
- Must be 18–24 years old at the time of application, to reflect the youth we serve.
- Based in Santa Fe/Albuquerque and the surrounding area.
- Must have a car and a valid driver’s license. Car mileage will be reimbursed according to official rates for all job-related travel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable initiating conversations.
- Passionate about 2SLGBTQIA+ youth empowerment, mental health, and affirming community support.
- Comfortable speaking publicly and representing the organization professionally.
- Comfortably engage with people of all ages about Queer and Trans youth experiences and the mission of GUTF.
- Flexible schedule: availability for evenings or weekends as events require.
- Reliable high-speed internet and a recent-generation computer capable of supporting GUTF’s digital platforms (remote work).
- Comfortable/experienced social media user (Instagram & TikTok)
- Must successfully complete a background check (conducted by a third-party provider).
Compensation & Perks
- $17/hour, up to 20 hours per week
- Mileage reimbursement for travel to/from events and meetings
