Community Canvassers - 22-24/hr bonuses

About the role

This campaign is a coordinated effort to elect progressive candidates in several key districts. We are working with the Natural Resource Defense Council to support candidates who champion progressive values and our shared vision for a better future. Our team connects directly with voters through door-to-door outreach, encouraging turnout for progressive leaders down the ticket.

This role offers experience in leadership, communication & advocacy, community outreach & engagement, campaign work, public policy, and social enterprise.

Responsibilities

Canvasser

• Paid training at $20/hour for the first 3 days
• Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
• Deliver a compelling campaign message and collect complete survey answers from voters
• Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
• Follow the campaign’s safety protocols

Team Leader

• All Canvasser responsibilities
• Manage a small group of canvassers in the field by checking in periodically and debriefing at the end of the day
• Ensure each canvasser has all materials needed to be successful
• Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work

Requirements

• Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy
• Strong communication skills; enjoy working with others and speaking with diverse audiences
• Hard worker who stays motivated to engage as many people as possible
• Open to new challenges and interested in building campaign skills
• Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community
• Prior canvassing experience preferred, but not required

Pay

• Canvasser: $22/hour
• Team Lead: $24/hour
• Overtime pay, driver bonuses, shift bonuses, and paid training provided
• Sick pay and friend referral bonuses included
• Additional $2/hour for fluent bilingual speakers
