Community Canvasser- League of Conservation Voters

About the role

Help turn out voters in Alaska to get out the vote and win! Grassroots efforts are ramping up and we are looking for a team of canvassers to reach voters who deserve a voice in this election. From now through Election Day, our team will connect directly with voters on the ground through door‑to‑door outreach, supporting candidates who champion progressive values and encouraging people to get out and vote for progressive leaders down the ticket. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise.

Responsibilities

Canvasser Responsibilities

• Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
• Deliver a compelling campaign message and collect complete survey answers from voters
• Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
• Follow the campaign's safety protocols

Team Leader Responsibilities

• All Canvasser responsibilities
• Manage a small group of canvassers out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day and debriefing with them at the end of the day
• Ensure each canvasser has all of the materials they need to be successful
• Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work

Requirements

The ideal candidate:

• Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy
• Strong communication skills; enjoys working with other people and is willing and excited to speak with everyone
• Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible
• Open to new challenges and interested in building campaign skills
• Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community
• Prior canvassing experience is preferred, but not required

Pay

Canvasser positions start at $23/hour. Team Lead positions start at $25/hour.

Schedule

Positions run from now through November 3, with possibilities for advancement afterwards. Shifts are 9 AM – 7 PM on weekdays and weekends, with part‑time or full‑time availability.
