About the role
The Community Action Committee of Pike County seeks individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those in need. Our mission is to provide essential services and support to enhance the quality of life for our community members.
Responsibilities
- Conducts intake, processes applications, and supports the eligibility determination for housing and utility assistance programs.
- Works closely with the Social Services Director to oversee and support the coordination, implementation, and customer service delivery of HEAP, PIPP, and Neighbor to Neighbor programs.
- Supports the safety, well-being, and development of children and families enrolled in the Early Childhood Program.
- Provides preventive dental services, patient education, and supports patients in achieving and maintaining optimal oral health.
- Builds strong, respectful partnerships with families enrolled in the Early Childhood Program and provides individualized family support.
- Ensures safe and reliable transportation to Pike County for transit services.
- Plans and implements developmentally appropriate activities and supports the education, safety, health, and overall well-being of children enrolled in the Early Childhood Program.
- Provides direct patient care and clinical support within a primary care setting to ensure high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care.
- Provides comprehensive and emergency dental services, including diagnosis/treatment plans, general restorative procedures, minor oral surgery, and supports patients in achieving and maintaining optimal oral health.
Requirements
Must have a valid driver’s license, current CPR certification, and a strong commitment to public service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., social work, public health, early childhood education).
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
