Shape the message and strengthen the mission as a Senior Strategic Communications Specialist. Lead high-visibility communications for an Intelligence Community customer, transforming complex information into clear, compelling products for senior leaders and mission audiences.

About the Role
Serve as an independent strategic communications subject matter expert supporting the full lifecycle of high-visibility products. Plan and execute requirements with minimal oversight—from research, writing, coordination, and quality control to final delivery—while partnering with design and web teams to keep information accurate and timely across platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic communications support, including strategy and planning documents, executive communications, leadership messaging, talking points, speeches, and remarks.
- Own or support the complete Weekly Activity Report lifecycle: collect inputs, draft and edit content, coordinate reviews, control versions, and deliver final products on schedule.
- Support internal and external events through logistics coordination, messaging, supporting materials, post-event summaries, and follow-on communications.
- Author fact sheets, articles, emails, newsletters, marketing copy, website content, and other communications products.
- Prepare assignments and drafts using subject-matter-expert input and leadership direction.
- Research, write, edit, format, and quality-check content for hardcopy and electronic publication across multiple platforms.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, readability, tone, and accessibility compliance for each audience and medium.
- Rewrite and refine submissions to improve organization, clarity, grammar, and flow while preserving intent and tradecraft standards.
- Prepare and edit speeches, scripts, testimony materials, and formal statements for senior executives delivering live or recorded remarks.
- Advise and coach leadership on message clarity and presentation delivery when requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 18+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 10+ years, or 24+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance (required).
- Demonstrated experience producing executive-level communications, including leadership messaging, talking points, speeches, and written products for senior audiences.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and simply.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality products under tight deadlines.
- Experience coordinating across stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, including design and web support.
- Familiarity with accessibility and publication standards for written and web-based products.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud tools for content development and coordination.
