About the role

The Communications Specialist supports public relations strategies and tactics to build Premise Health’s reputation and generate external awareness of its offerings. Reporting to the Manager, Public Relations, this role collaborates with the marketing and communications team to handle media relations, client communications, and broker and consultant communications.

Responsibilities

  • Support overarching media relations strategy
  • Identify opportunities for press releases, sourcing stories, proof points, and data that help tell the Premise story
  • Draft press releases that adhere to brand guidelines and communicate strategic priorities
  • Pitch media, including researching reporters and developing thoughtful angles
  • Develop relationships with reporters who cover Premise and our industry
  • Write summaries of press to appear on the Premise website (news site)
  • Report on media activities for Premise and competitors
  • Maintain a daily news monitor, sharing relevant news with the team and senior stakeholders
  • Analyze data and develop reports following press release distribution
  • Manage relationship with external media monitoring vendor(s)
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives that differentiate Premise and position the company and executives as industry innovators
  • Identify opportunities for earned speaking engagements and draft applications for them
  • Identify opportunities for awards and draft applications for them
  • Support webinar and event needs, including content development and logistics
  • Develop talking points, FAQs, presentations, and briefs to prepare executives for public engagements where they represent Premise

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field or equivalent work experience, along with 3+ years of marketing and communications experience, including public / media relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail, comfortable communicating with executives and clients, ability to manage multiple projects with various timelines, self-starter who demonstrates initiative and thrives in a collaborative work environment, demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving mindset, strong analytics, reporting written, and verbal communications, team player with a positive, can-do attitude, comfortable working in a dynamic environment with a certain amount of ambiguity, proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, knowledge of working in a media monitoring platform; Cision preferred but not required.
