Responsibilities
- Compose and edit internal, media, and external executive communications.
- Create and publish recurring internal communications.
- Track and monitor day-to-day official communications.
- Aid in planning and evaluating communications strategies.
- Pitch new article, product, social media, or other communications product ideas to the team and client.
- Translate technical information into clear, readable documents.
- Review and analyze written material for accuracy, consistency, organization, research, and appropriateness.
- Ensure digital/web content, text, prints, and audiovisual products are properly published on the agency's internal and external sites.
- Organize material according to standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by government agency staff.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience (4+ years with an advanced degree).
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective project management skills to create and deliver under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Federal government and/or management consulting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of strategic communications best practices.
- Knowledge of public affairs requirements including 508 accessibility requirements.
- Familiarity with graphics design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, or similar tools.
