Communications Specialist

Responsibilities

• Operate the communications console and paging equipment.
• Initiate hospital alarms and emergency procedures.
• Schedule patients.
• Perform various clerical and administrative duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows required.
• Medical Terminology required.
• Completed specialized courses or training on console operation within 6 months of hire is required.
• Excellent customer service, telephone skills, and verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Previous experience working in the medical field is preferred.
• Multi-lingual preferred.
• One year related work experience is required.
• MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED.
• Accurate message taking and accurate spelling.
• Relay messages accurately and according to specific instructions.
• Good typing skills from verbal communication.
• Work well with others and/or alone.
• Work at CMH or SLH site if/when needed.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Pay

Pay range: USD $16.29 - USD $27.54 /Hr.

Rotation Schedule

Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation.
