Professional Development

Each year the School sets aside funds for professional development. Faculty and staff attend conferences and seminars or visit places of educational interest using these funds. For those full-time employees who wish to pursue advanced degrees, the School has established the Advanced Degree Loan Program. There is a minimum of one year service requirement and an application process. The School will decide which applications to approve in a given year, given the limitations of the annual budget. Once a degree has been awarded, the employee will pay the loan back by continued employment at the School.

Teacher Induction Program

New faculty members participate in Fort Worth Country Day's Teacher Induction Program for their first two years at the School. This program helps new teachers learn about the School and its philosophy, mission and core values. Additionally, new teachers are paired with experienced members of the School’s faculty who mentor them throughout their first year.

The Endowed Master Teaching Chair Program

The Endowed Master Teaching Chair designation is the highest distinction given by Fort Worth Country Day to faculty members who have a sustained record of teaching excellence. While all FWCD faculty adhere to the Principles of Professional Excellence, Endowed Master Teachers are those who consistently go above and beyond what is expected of them.
