About the role

CVP is seeking a Communications Specialist to support high-quality program deliverables and ensure effective communication of messages.

Responsibilities

  • Draft communications and coordinate logistics, speakers, and related materials for ISC meetings and events.
  • Enhance the overall communications strategy and implementation plan to inform, educate, engage, and develop stakeholders' interest.
  • Execute marketing plans to reach a variety of target audiences.
  • Develop and maintain communications briefings, presentations, announcements, etc.
  • Develop content for executives, divisions, and branches.
  • Create and revise content for articles in technical and general media publications, digital newsletters, etc.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute communication plan as required.
  • Produce, design, and edit content for videos, social media, public announcements, fact sheets, presentations, training courses, and other associated media and materials.
  • Create and present communications briefings, graphics, newsletters, and blog entries, and presentations.
  • Support innovative communications and marketing programs across a variety of platforms, ensuring consistency in themes, messages, and desired outcomes.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, maintain, and execute communication plans (developing and presenting communications briefings, newsletters, and presentations).
  • Organize and oversee communication related to IT events and activities; draft and edit speeches, articles, and other communication materials.
  • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of communication plans, strategies, and outreach projects.
  • Develop and maintain a coordinated network of information sharing among internal staff to integrate communications efforts across the organization.
  • Collaborate and coordinate the development of graphics design projects, including reports, posters, presentations, newsletters, videos, illustrations, logos, infographics, and exhibits, involving writing and editing using plain language that explains complex information technology language or IT policy programs for various audiences.
  • Write, edit, and provide technical assistance for a variety of publications for internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate content, graphic design, video, or social media activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3-4 years of previous experience in a Communications Specialist or Technical Writing.
  • Strong experience with tools such as Captivate, Snagit, PowerPoint, and other tools that support writing and training materials.
  • Professional writing sample to share during the interview process.
  • Expert in MS Word.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Clear and concise verbal communication.
  • Able to listen and capture information in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of initiative, a self-starter.
  • Strong attention to detail, collaborative.
  • A positive attitude and strong professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Experience working for a consulting firm in the federal / health sector.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and NIST 800-XX standards.

Skills

  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
