We’re the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), a federal government corporation focused on a single mission: upholding the right of everyone in Canada to a healthy and safe workplace where they can thrive. Our tools and resources—including websites, mobile apps, social media, courses, fact sheets, and publications—are widely used across Canada. As part of our Communications team, you’ll help develop informational content to promote the Centre’s programs and services.

About The Role

Reporting to the Communications Program Manager, you will:

  • Write clear-language content for websites, scripts, newsletter articles, and infographics.
  • Produce multi-media informational assets such as podcasts and videos to disseminate health and safety information and engage users.
  • Leverage communications expertise to build community and foster engagement with stakeholders via social media, newsletters, and other channels.
  • Ensure quality, accessibility, and usability of all communication assets.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to plan, execute, produce, and measure events.

Requirements

  • A university degree and/or post-secondary education with a specialization in communications, journalism, and/or new media.
  • Three years’ experience working in the communications or media field. Experience within a health and safety organization is an asset.
  • Sound research and interviewing skills, with advanced proficiency in MS-Office products and CRM software.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, online marketing and deliverability tools (e.g., Envoke), and web analytics software (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage concurrent initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working in a public sector environment.
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages is desirable.

Pay

Salary range: $77,191 to $99,383 (CCOHS-08) per annum.

Schedule

Full-time, temporary, unionized position.
