About the Role

The Communications & PR Specialist will play a key role in delivering external and internal communications across the organization. This role will help shape how Speria communicates with customers, employees, media organizations, industry stakeholders, and executive leadership. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, experienced storyteller, and proactive communications professional who can translate complex technical concepts into compelling stories that resonate with diverse audiences. This individual should be comfortable working independently, partnering with senior leaders, developing and executing communications plans across a global organization. Responsibilities

  • Public Relations & Media Relations
    • Develop and execute proactive PR and media plans that strengthen Speria’s credibility, visibility, and thought leadership.
    • Build relationships with trade media, journalists, analysts, and industry influencers.
    • Develop compelling press releases, media pitches, executive statements, and media briefing materials.
    • Coordinate media interviews and speaking opportunities for executives and subject matter experts.
    • Support product launches, major company announcements, and thought leadership initiatives.
    • Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities to strengthen Speria's market presence.
  • Internal Communications
    • Develop and deliver internal communications that keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with company priorities.
    • Create executive communications, leadership messaging, and employee communications across multiple channels.
    • Partner with HR and organizational leaders to support change management and company-wide communication initiatives.
    • Develop and coordinate content across internal communication channels.
    • Help develop communication plans that ensure key messages reach the appropriate audiences effectively.
  • Content Development & Storytelling
    • Create engaging written content across a variety of formats including press releases, executive messaging, internal communications, thought leadership articles, customer stories, speaking materials, and company announcements.
    • Translate technical product features and business initiatives into clear, audience-focused messaging.
    • Collaborate closely with Product Marketing to amplify product stories and support go-to-market initiatives.
    • Ensure consistency of messaging and brand voice across all communications.
  • Strategic Communications
    • Support issues and crisis communications under the direction of senior Communications leadership.
    • Partner with stakeholders across multiple business functions and geographies.
    • Help build clear, scalable communications processes and ways of working as the organization evolves.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you will:

  • Establish yourself as a trusted communications partner to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Strengthen media visibility and develop meaningful relationships within key industry publications.
  • Improve internal communications effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Help establish clear, consistent, and scalable ways of working across global communications.
  • Create compelling stories that strengthen the visibility and credibility of Speria, its products, and leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in public relations, communications, corporate communications, media relations, or related disciplines.
  • Exceptional copywriting, editing, and business writing skills.
  • Experience developing executive communications and leadership messaging.
  • Demonstrated experience working with media outlets, journalists, and public relations initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple departments and organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex or technical subject matter into clear, audience-appropriate communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within Agriculture, Food Production, AgTech, FoodTech, Animal Health, or related industries.
  • Experience supporting technology organizations or technical product portfolios.
  • Agency communications or public relations experience.
  • Experience supporting global organizations and international stakeholders.
  • Existing relationships with relevant trade media and industry journalists.
  • Experience supporting multiple brands, business units, or product portfolios simultaneously.
