Travel Lane County promotes the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region to support a vibrant, year-round and countywide economy that enriches our communities. Our team is collaborative, innovative and driven by a shared commitment to serving the place we call home.

About the role

We're looking for a Communications Manager who can create clear, compelling content for key audiences and markets. In this role, you’ll help shape how Travel Lane County communicates with visitors, stakeholders and industry partners across a range of channels. You’ll write original, audience-focused content tailored to each placement, from destination stories for potential visitors to industry updates for partners and stakeholders. You’ll adapt tone, structure and messaging to fit each placement, producing work that is inspirational, clear and motivating while keeping pace during busy seasons and high-volume production cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Write original, audience-focused content tailored to each placement, including destination stories for potential visitors and industry updates for partners and stakeholders.
  • Adapt tone, structure, and messaging to fit each channel and audience while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on projects supporting visitor and meeting planner marketing, visitor economy highlights, and partner/stakeholder communications.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple content requests during high-volume production cycles.
  • Provide constructive feedback and welcome input during the review process to strengthen final products.
  • Contribute to team efforts beyond core responsibilities, such as covering the visitor center or assisting at events.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and audience-specific messages.
  • Ability to adjust voice and approach for different audiences (visitors, planners, community members) while staying true to the brand.
  • Genuine interest in Lane County’s communities, including curiosity about what distinguishes places like Oakridge from Florence.
  • Ability to remain steady and prioritize effectively during busy periods and last-minute requests.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share work and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
  • Strong attention to detail, including catching typos, verifying links, and ensuring polished final products.
  • Flexibility to pitch in wherever needed, embracing variety and teamwork in a small-team environment.

Benefits

  • Medical and dental insurance
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave
  • Employer SEP/IRA contributions after two years
  • Cell phone stipend

Pay

$55,000 per year (full-time, exempt)

Work Environment

You’ll join a team that works hard, supports one another, and genuinely enjoys collaborating to achieve shared goals. Expectations will be clear, along with the tools, training, and resources you need to succeed and make a meaningful impact. Your work schedule will respect your life outside of work, and ongoing learning and career development opportunities will align with your goals. Above all, you'll be part of a culture built on trust, teamwork, mutual respect, and a sense of fun that makes coming to work rewarding every day.

Your work supports important marketing placements and projects on behalf of Travel Lane County and the communities we serve. It requires careful attention to detail, a creative perspective, and a professional approach, with much of your content reaching visitors and partners who shape the future of the visitor economy in the region.
