Amazon is seeking a motivated, creative, and mission-driven professional to support regulatory, policy, and corporate communications for Amazon Leo. This is a unique opportunity to shape the communications strategy for one of Amazon’s most ambitious new initiatives and have a positive, lasting impact on customers and communities worldwide.

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite internet network. Its mission is to provide fast, reliable internet to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. The system is built around a constellation of thousands of satellites in orbit around the planet and will serve a wide range of customers globally, from individual households and small businesses to large enterprises and government customers.

About the role

In this role, you will lead communications programs that advance global policy, advocacy, and reputational priorities for Amazon Leo. You will develop messaging, build and sustain strong media relationships, execute successful campaigns and events, and work with international teams to localize content and campaigns for different regions. You will collaborate closely with business, engineering, legal, public policy, and regulatory teams to shape this program.

As a key advisor to the business, you must demonstrate excellent judgment, earn trust with internal stakeholders, and dive deep into complex topics. You must clearly articulate ideas in both written and verbal communications, anticipate potential issues, simplify work processes, and advocate for decisions that protect the long-term interests of Amazon and its customers. This role offers the chance to shape the long-term vision for one of Amazon's most exciting ventures and directly impact tens of millions of customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute communications programs that advance global regulatory, policy, and reputational priorities for Amazon Leo.
  • Lead communications for Leo community impact programs, including disaster relief efforts and partnerships with regional non-profit and public sector organizations.
  • Develop proactive and reactive communications around domestic and international regulatory filings.
  • Partner with policy and regulatory teams to drive third-party engagement and advocacy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with top-tier industry and policy reporters, and drive local and regional media engagement.
  • Support storytelling and campaigns around key business, policy, and program milestones.
  • Anticipate and manage potential reputational issues.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in professional communications or public relations.
  • Experience in satellite communications and/or the broader telecommunications sector.

Pay

USA, VA, Arlington - $126,700.00 - $171,400.00 USD annually.
