We would love for you to be a part of BCBSNE’s journey as an intern where you will gain hands-on experiences solving real-world problems. The communications intern will work closely with team members to write and edit a variety of materials to support internal communications and media relations. This individual will also assist with ongoing programs and special events. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a Partner of Choice for the Nebraska University System. Our Interns work a hybrid schedule and spend some days working on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village. Therefore, you will need to live within commuting distance from Wednesday, May 26 – Friday, July 30, 2027. What You'll Do Write and edit a variety of communication pieces, including intranet and newsroom content, press releases, social media posts, posters, scripts, brochures and other company collateralWork closely with communications staff to coordinate programs and projectsAssist with special event planning and executionMust meet or exceed department attendance and timeliness requirementsMust work well in a team environment and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with others To Be Considered For This Position, You Must Have Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Journalism, English, Advertising, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or BusinessStrong organizational skills with consistent attention to details and deadlinesAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Strong collaboration and communication (written and verbal) skillsComprehensive knowledge and understanding of AP Style Learn more about what makes BCBSNE such an exceptional place to work by visiting NebraskaBlue.com/Careers.
