About the role

The Communications Infrastructure Project Coordinator supports capital infrastructure projects by coordinating communications and networking requirements throughout the project lifecycle. This role serves as a liaison between planning, engineering, construction, telecommunications, network operations, and field operations teams to ensure communication assets, equipment, configurations, and documentation are accurately planned, deployed, tracked, and successfully closed out.

Responsibilities

  • Support infrastructure projects involving communications, networking, and control system technologies.
  • Review project requests, engineering scopes, construction plans, and technical documentation to identify communications infrastructure requirements.
  • Coverage of project activities between engineering, construction, telecommunications, operations, and project teams.
  • Ensure communications infrastructure requirements are incorporated into project plans and schedules.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while supporting various stakeholders and project timelines.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on infrastructure readiness, scope, and execution status.
  • Coordinate deployment activities for communications, telecommunications, and network infrastructure.
  • Aid in communication system installations, upgrades, cutovers, and infrastructure deployments.
  • Support commissioning efforts by ensuring equipment, documentation, and configurations are properly prepared and validated.
  • Identify and resolve communications infrastructure issues that may impact project schedules or operational requirements.
  • Conduct documentation reviews and periodic field visits to verify site conditions.
  • Validate existing communications equipment inventories and infrastructure configurations.
  • Assess field conditions to ensure project documentation accurately reflects current installations.
  • Support infrastructure deployment activities by coordinating with field personnel and technical teams.
  • Maintain communications asset records, inventory databases, and configuration documentation.
  • Update engineering drawings, network diagrams, project records, and installation documentation.
  • Track equipment inventories and ensure asset information remains accurate and current.
  • Support project closeout activities by verifying that documentation, inventory records, asset databases, and final drawings are complete and accurate.
  • Afford assistance in maintaining operational and project-related records to support future maintenance and planning activities.
  • Act as a central point of coordination between technical, operational, and project teams.
  • Communicate project requirements, timelines, risks, and readiness status to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering, telecommunications, construction, and operations personnel to support project success.
  • Coverage of vendor, contractor, and external partner coordination when required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate Degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Networking, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent education, training, or professional experience may be considered.
  • Experience: Supporting infrastructure, telecommunications, networking, construction, engineering, utility, or capital project environments. Experience coordinating multiple projects, schedules, stakeholders, and technical activities. Experience maintaining technical documentation, asset inventories, and system records. Experience working with engineering drawings, technical documentation, or project plans. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Supporting utility, transmission, substation, communications, or Operational Technology (OT) environments. Experience with infrastructure deployment or construction-related projects. Familiarity with SCADA systems, automation systems, or communications networks. Experience conducting field verification activities and equipment inventory assessments. Understanding of protective relaying communications and industrial communications environments.

This is a Contract position based out of Waukesha, WI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
