Communications Graphic Manager

Position Responsibilities

• Creates, oversees/manages art preparation, providing guidance as needed.
• Establishes and implements a work order process through which design consultation can occur, specifications can be collected, and projects can be assigned and prioritized.
• Calculates project cost estimates based on materials and resources required; maintains pricing list or system for recurring or standard projects.
• Schedules and leads regular departmental meetings to discuss projects and priorities for team members and to address questions or concerns regarding company policies and procedures.
• Maintains departmental equipment and supplies; may research and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive prices on required materials and equipment.
• Maintains portfolio of exemplary work samples.
• Attends design consultation meetings for unusual or large-scale projects.
• Collaborates with internal business partners and outside vendors/contractors to ensure all expectations are sufficiently met.

• Ability to “switch gears” and reprioritize projects and timelines in order to accommodate more immediate or urgent requests.
• Thorough understanding of layout, typography, color and design.
• Able to assess costs and quote prices for projects requiring support from outside vendors.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite as well as Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of digital/interactive, social and print methods.

Experience

5-7 years in graphic design required
Project management preferred

Education/Certification

Bachelor’s degree preferred
