About the role
The Mobile Sensors program performs Operations and Maintenance (O&M) on a ship-based mobile radar/communication systems. These systems are complex, multi-mission systems with elaborate command, control, computer, and communications interfaces and support sub-systems. The program team operates these systems 24/7 and can respond quickly to mission needs.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain ship-associated communications-electronic equipment, including embedded systems, data communications, data processors, desktop computers, and ancillary equipment.
- Manage COMSEC equipment such as data and voice encryption devices, multiplexers, and modems.
- Support standard Navy message systems and perform additional duties as required/assigned.
- Live and work onboard a ship operating in overseas ports.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Current U.S. Passport with 3 x blank pages.
- Maintain Maritime Medical Exam IAW CENTCOM Mod 15 requirements, despite being hindered by motion sickness.
Qualifications
- High School Degree.
Skills
- Knowledge working with US Air Force COMSEC accounts.
- Desired Education: US Navy's A-Schools for Operations Specialists or equivalent civilian training.
- Desired Certifications: Defense Security CompTIA CertMaster CE, Security+.
Benefits
This position is Full-Time/at-sea on a forward deployed vessel. Pay and benefits are per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 2088.
