About the role
Spokane Falls Community College seeks qualified candidates for consideration of employment in an adjunct (part-time) faculty position in the Communication Studies program (CMST) in the Humanities and Social Science division.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare for and instruct classes in Communication Studies in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online), which may include Introduction to Communication, Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Gender Communication, Intercultural Communication, or Job Communication Skills.
- Provide availability and accessibility to students through a combination of face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree in Communication Studies or a related field from an accredited institution, and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Communication Studies or a related field. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
Qualifications
A strong commitment to teaching excellence, student success, and the ability to engage students in a variety of learning environments. Experience teaching in higher education is preferred.
Skills
Effective communication skills, including oral and written communication. Proficiency in using educational technology tools and platforms. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

Pay
The starting salary for this position is $42.05 - $89.48 per hour based on workload category.
