Job Summary
This position is responsible for research and communication strategies in providing information to the media, the public and internal audiences. Determines content topics, coordinates with others to obtain information, writes, edits and sends to internal and external audiences. Prepares the production of press releases, announcements, and internal communication as needed. This position will report to the Director of Communications.
Education & Experience
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of work experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.
- Certifications, Licenses, Or Registration Required: N/A
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Good knowledge of effective communication both verbally and written and social media, and experience in thinking critically and using creative ways to solve problems.
- Project management and time management.
- Excellent writing skills, grammar and proofreading skills and excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Determine news-worthy stories and writes them for internal and external purposes.
- Develop website content and general maintenance/updates for webpages.
- Leverage analytics and reports to determine effectiveness and seek continual improvements of communication initiatives.
- Write, edit and coordinate distribution of information to market, promote and increase the visibility of initiatives and accomplishments.
Physical and Environmental Demands
- Requires occasionally exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level, exposure to heat and cold.
- Frequently works hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours.
- Constantly travelling to offsite locations.
- Constantly activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature.
- Work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality.
- Occasionally bending, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasionally climbing, occasionally crouching/stooping, occasionally driving, occasionally kneeling, occasionally pushing/pulling, occasionally reaching, constantly sitting, frequently standing, occasionally twisting, and constantly walking (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more).
