Comms Business Analyst, Operations Internal Communications
Amazon’s Internal Communications team supporting the Global Operations workforce is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a passion for analyzing data and surfacing key insights that drive strategic shifts and business decisions. This role involves writing compelling business documents, developing data visualizations, and building automated solutions to drive decision-making and process improvement.
About the role
The ideal candidate will leverage advanced analytics, AI tools (such as Kiro and Quick Suite), and problem-solving skills to deliver business insights across a broad set of stakeholders. This role focuses on strategy and storytelling—deciding what to measure, why it matters, and what actions to take. You will build and own measurement frameworks that translate employee feedback, content performance data, and behavioral patterns into actionable narratives and recommendations for communicating with 1M+ Operations employees globally.
You will lead recurring strategy sessions to advise content teams on publishing decisions, write analytical narratives for global business reviews, automate reporting with AI, and surface insights at scale using dashboards, Python, and intelligent agents. This role requires critical and probabilistic thinking, the ability to build scalable systems from ambiguity, and strong collaboration with both non-technical communications strategists and technical partners (data engineers, business intelligence engineers).
Responsibilities
- Own the measurement framework for internal communications channels, including KPIs, baselines, benchmarks, and goals.
- Dive deep into content performance and employee feedback data to uncover insights and share learnings with global internal communicators.
- Analyze sentiment to identify opportunities where communications can close information gaps.
- Write analytical narratives for Business Reviews, explaining what happened, why, and recommended next steps, while tracking trends over time.
- Advise regional communications teams on content strategy using data (bi-weekly editorial calls, ad hoc requests, content recommendations).
- Build AI-powered automation to reduce manual reporting burden (automated reports, Slack integrations, scheduled data pulls, intelligent agents).
- Build and maintain dashboards and data tools for a global set of non-technical stakeholders.
- Design and implement reporting solutions that enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
- Access raw data feeds, build queries, organize data, and design visualizations that present business performance at a glance.
- Partner cross-functionally with tech teams to innovate and improve the experience for internal teams and employees across Operations.
