Commodity Manager (Buyer)

We’re looking for a Commodity Manager to develop commodity strategies for current and future programs, source and qualify vendors, negotiate pricing, and place purchase orders to fulfill demand.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth and cost-efficient material flow to support our operations.
• Develop and execute supply chain project plans for assigned new product development projects.
• Manage all aspects of assigned commodities – commodity strategies, market conditions, technology roadmaps, and should cost creation.
• Manage a supply base that meets Singer’s Cost, Quality, and Delivery targets.
• Work in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.
• Be responsible for issuance of RFQs.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance to achieve program milestones and customer requirements.
• Be accountable for ensuring accuracy of part master data within MRP.
• Generate purchase requisitions and place Purchase Orders with suppliers to meet demand.
• Support issuing RFI, RFP, RFQ, PO placement and other purchasing activities as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields.
• Three (3) plus years of experience as Buyer, Purchasing Agent, Purchasing Specialist, GSM or equivalent.
• Proven ability to onboard and contract pricing agreements with suppliers.
• Knowledge of procurement strategies, should cost models and technology roadmaps.

Pay

The starting pay range for this position is between $86,953 - 108,691 per year plus bonus.

Schedule

This is a salaried, exempt role, but the General schedule is 7am-3:30pm.
