Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Strategic Sourcing strategies for assigned Commodities, including:
- Assess current and future requirements by mapping direct and indirect needs and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as engineering to understand the market and competitive landscape.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the commodity, identifying multiple potential suppliers who meet requirements and assessing their reliability, reputation, financial stability, production capacity, quality control, and operational capabilities.
- Negotiate long-term contracts with selected suppliers, defining quality standards, delivery schedules, pricing, and business continuity planning.
- Manage schedule and task details using project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling software.
- Ensure all key suppliers have executed Supply Master Agreements and complete monthly scorecards.
- Verify that the supply base has the capacity to handle volume requirements, including surge demands.
- Manage long-term supplier partnerships by implementing development strategies that enhance capabilities, reduce costs, and shorten lead times.
- Engage key business stakeholders in Operations strategic planning, supplier development, and field service improvements.
- Lead the internal Onto Commodity Council with key stakeholders for assigned responsibilities.
- Drive strategic procurement initiatives to optimize supply, mitigate risk, improve quality, and reduce lead time and cost.
- Analyze and improve existing processes and communications with suppliers to enhance information flow.
- Provide oversight of procurement-related activities for directly responsible suppliers.
- Actively engage in the development and execution of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) with the supply base and proactively manage sourcing strategies for end-of-life components.
- Ensure the supply base properly manages and executes Supplier Quality Actions, discrepant materials, return-to-vendor transactions, and repair/refurbishment (in or out of warranty).
- Coordinate and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with key suppliers for assigned commodities.
- Develop short- and long-term strategies using market analysis, user requirements, and company objectives for assigned commodities.
- Apply quantitative techniques relevant to sourcing functions, such as TCO modeling, “should cost” analysis, RFP analysis, negotiation evaluation, and financial modeling.
- Identify make vs. buy opportunities and drive alignment with key stakeholders.
- Evaluate supplier performance and collaborate with supplier leadership to address sourcing issues.
- Ensure decision-making and prioritization processes are in place and utilized.
- Negotiate and formalize supplier agreements with knowledge of available contractual vehicles.
- Develop and implement a Sourcing/Operations strategy for New Product Introduction.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to understand requirements and communicate them cohesively to suppliers.
- Work with engineering to identify preliminary critical parts, long-lead parts, and inspection requirements.
- Assist and/or lead in developing supplier and commodity roadmaps for engineering.
- Utilize value analysis on build-to-print components to support Should Cost analysis.
- Ensure product lifecycle programs (PLC) meet material cost targets and Gross Margin targets; facilitate and maintain Cost Apportionment Models.
- Provide engineering and business process expertise to the team on complex programs/issues.
Requirements
- BA in business or other quantitative field, or comparable experience.
- Minimum of 10+ years of operational experience with at least 5 years in a successful Supply Chain management role.
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems and an understanding of the roles of Master Scheduling, Material Planning, and Procurement.
- Ability to establish relationships and trust within the organization and the supply base.
- Effective communication skills to articulate business needs, plans, and status updates.

Pay
Base Salary Range: $144,000.00 - $216,000.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.
Additional rewards include annual bonus opportunities and potential long-term incentives tied to both company and individual success.
