About the role
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in evaluating counterparty risk, enhancing risk management practices, and supporting commercial growth across a diverse portfolio of clients and transactions. The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders, provide independent risk assessments, and contribute to the continued development of the firm's credit risk framework.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed credit assessments of existing and prospective counterparties, including financial statement analysis and risk evaluation.
- Support business teams by providing credit perspectives on new opportunities, products, and market developments.
- Monitor counterparty exposures and identify emerging credit concerns or concentration risks.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain credit risk methodologies, policies, and monitoring tools.
- Deliver actionable risk insights and recommendations to support informed commercial decision-making.
- Prepare risk reporting materials and presentations for senior management and governance forums.
- Assist in the management of risk mitigation solutions, including insurance arrangements and other credit protection structures.
- Work alongside technology, data, and operations teams to improve risk reporting, analytics, and workflow efficiency.
- Contribute to ongoing initiatives focused on strengthening the overall risk management framework.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 4+ years of experience in credit risk, counterparty risk, corporate banking, capital markets, trading, or a related financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of credit analysis, financial statement review, and risk assessment techniques.
- Experience evaluating institutional, corporate, or trading counterparties.
- Ability to analyse complex situations and make sound, data-driven recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence decisions when appropriate.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Proficiency with Excel and risk reporting tools; exposure to data analytics platforms is advantageous.
Qualifications
Competitive base salary ranging from $100,000 - $150,000
