About the role
Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking an Infusion Nurse Practitioner to work every other weekend at the clinic located in Macomb, MI.
Schedule
Every other weekend – 26 weekends a year that includes 2 holidays (plus the holiday weekend).
Responsibilities
- Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site
- Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered
- Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial-a-flow tubing
- Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system
- Address patient's questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment, etc. within scope of Mid-level provider
- Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs, establishing priorities
- Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment
- Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility
- Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations
- Support professional practice by observing the following: uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Valid APRN
- At least two years NP office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice
- Infusion experience
- Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
- Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19
Pay
$65/hour
