Committed Weekend Nurse Practitioner

About the role

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking an Infusion Nurse Practitioner to work every other weekend at the clinic located in Macomb, MI.

Schedule

Every other weekend – 26 weekends a year that includes 2 holidays (plus the holiday weekend).

Responsibilities

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial-a-flow tubing.
• Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system.
• Address patient’s questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment, etc., within scope of Mid-level provider.
• Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs, establishing priorities.
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the facility.
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Support professional practice by observing the following: uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid APRN.
• At least two years of NP office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice.
• Infusion experience.
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.

Pay

$65/hour
