About the Role

The Commissions Analyst is responsible for reviewing and validating agent credit assignments within the agency's trust and compensation systems. This role ensures that Signing Agents and Booking Agents are accurately credited for client engagements, bookings, and revenue-generating activities, enabling proper bonus allocation and compensation. The Commissions Analyst serves as a critical quality control function, partnering with agents, accounting, payroll, and operations teams to maintain the integrity of compensation data and resolve crediting discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Agent Credit Review & Validation
    • Review client, deal, and booking records to verify the accuracy of Signing Agent and Booking Agent assignments.
    • Analyze booking activity, contracts, and supporting documentation to confirm proper agent attribution.
    • Validate commission splits and agent participation percentages in accordance with established guidelines.
    • Ensure agent split percentage changes are accurately entered and maintained within applicable systems.
  • Compensation Accuracy
    • Verify that compensation calculations align with approved agent credit assignments and commission structures.
    • Conduct pre-payment and post-payment reviews to ensure accurate commission, bonus, and incentive payments.
    • Identify compensation discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with payroll and accounting teams.
    • Process and track compensation adjustments resulting from credit or payment corrections.
  • Data Integrity & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate and complete agent credit and compensation records within Trust and related systems.
    • Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and controls governing agent credit allocation.
    • Monitor data quality by identifying duplicate, missing, or inconsistent records.
    • Support internal and external audit requests by providing required documentation and records.
  • Research & Issue Resolution
    • Investigate agent credit disputes and exceptions to determine appropriate resolution.
    • Review contracts, booking records, client assignments, and historical transactions to support findings.
    • Present fact-based recommendations and communicate outcomes to management and key stakeholders.
    • Escalate complex, high-risk, or policy-related matters for further review and guidance.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports related to agent credit accuracy, compensation exceptions, and operational trends.
    • Provide regular commissions reporting to agents (monthly, quarterly, ad hoc).
    • Track open issues and discrepancies to ensure timely resolution and follow-up.
    • Analyze root causes of recurring errors and recommend process improvements and control enhancements.
    • Provide data-driven insights on agent productivity, compensation trends, and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Operations, or related field.
  • 2 or more years of experience in operations, compensation administration, trust review, audit, accounting, or talent agency administration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data management systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential compensation information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a talent agency, entertainment company, sports agency, or commission-based sales organization.
  • Knowledge of agent compensation structures, commission calculations, and split credit methodologies.
  • Experience with trust accounting, payroll, or revenue allocation processes.
  • Familiarity with agency management platforms.

Pay

$25 – $35/hour (DOE) + Full Benefits
