Commissioning Manager
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and status commissioning plan and schedule.
- Provide technical oversight of subcontractor selection to ensure adequate knowledge and resources to comply with commissioning needs.
- Organizes, plans, and reports on inspection turnover report, punch list, and system completion.
- Oversees activities involved in turnover deliverables.
- Responsible for contract obligations between PCL and the Owner as applies to turnover, documentation deliverables, and completion activities.
- Primary liaison with Owner’s commissioning and turnover team.
- Confirms and signs off on the assembly of all turnover documents into the turnover packages.
- Facilitates regular commissioning meetings with trade contractors and owner.
- Ensures compliance with Owner commissioning requirements at multiple stages required of data center.
- Ensures that system dossiers are developed, maintained and progressively completed so that turnover can be achieved as systems are completed.
- Confirms and signs off on the transfer of care and custody and/or certificate of completion documentation.
- Liaises between subcontractors to ensure system documentation and deliverables are met.
- Mentoring and leading commissioning and turnover team, including development plans for staff reports.
- Develops and implements training program related to commissioning and turnover of data center systems, for supervisory and field staff, as required.
Qualifications
- Excellent working knowledge of system completion process and requirements.
- 10+ years of construction experience in mechanical and electrical specific experience.
- Post-secondary degree, or trade school certificate, in construction related field.
- Completion of commissioning scope on 2+ data center projects.
- Well-versed in quality assurance requirements pertaining to data centers.
- Advanced experience in industrial type construction and is familiar with piping, mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical disciplines and managing activities related to systems completions and turnover.
- Advanced knowledge of construction codes, specifically pertaining to mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings including isometrics, line designation tables, cable schedules, and process and instrumentation designs (P&IDs).
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationship with Owner and key subtrades necessary to complete project commissioning and turnover.
Pay & Benefits
The salary range for this position is between $158,670 and $193,930 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
