About the role

Bala Consulting Engineers is a 200-person engineering firm headquartered in Wayne, PA. We are seeking a talented commissioning engineer with data center experience to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight of mechanical systems / equipment in existing and new facilities for Fortune 500 companies.
  • Manage Commissioning and Testing Projects, including client, internal team, and project financials.
  • Lead projects and write proposals, test scripts, and reports.
  • Mentor and train other Commissioning team members.
  • Coordinate invoicing with the Accounting Department.
  • Attend conferences and networking events periodically.
  • National travel needed to complete Commissioning & Testing activities at client sites with reimbursement of expenses.

Requirements

  • BS Mechanical Engineering (or similar qualification)
  • Mid-level commissioning engineer (7+ years experience)
  • Data center experience (required)
  • Willingness to travel across the U.S. for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to work various hours (days, nights, and weekends)
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment testing
  • EIT/PE/CPMP certification (a plus)
  • Military background in mechanical system’s operation and repair (a plus)
  • Hardworking and well-motivated engineer with the desire to learn and solve problems
  • Proficient technical writing skills (proposals, test scripts, and reports)
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to work in office and client sites (new construction and existing facilities) with a driver’s license
