About the role
Bala Consulting Engineers is a 200-person engineering firm headquartered in Wayne, PA. We are seeking a talented commissioning engineer with data center experience to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight of mechanical systems / equipment in existing and new facilities for Fortune 500 companies.
- Manage Commissioning and Testing Projects, including client, internal team, and project financials.
- Lead projects and write proposals, test scripts, and reports.
- Mentor and train other Commissioning team members.
- Coordinate invoicing with the Accounting Department.
- Attend conferences and networking events periodically.
- National travel needed to complete Commissioning & Testing activities at client sites with reimbursement of expenses.
Requirements
- BS Mechanical Engineering (or similar qualification)
- Mid-level commissioning engineer (7+ years experience)
- Data center experience (required)
- Willingness to travel across the U.S. for extended periods of time
- Willingness to work various hours (days, nights, and weekends)
- Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment testing
- EIT/PE/CPMP certification (a plus)
- Military background in mechanical system’s operation and repair (a plus)
- Hardworking and well-motivated engineer with the desire to learn and solve problems
- Proficient technical writing skills (proposals, test scripts, and reports)
- Communication skills
- Ability to work in office and client sites (new construction and existing facilities) with a driver’s license
