Commissioning Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute commissioning activities across all project phases, ensuring systems are tested and verified in accordance with the commissioning plan and project requirements.
  • Develop, review, and implement commissioning procedures, test scripts, and documentation in line with project specifications and applicable standards.
  • Conduct green tag inspection, witness functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing, recording results accurately and thoroughly.
  • Cooky coordination commissioning activities with project stakeholders including clients, contractors, engineers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Identify, log, and track deficiencies, ensuring corrective actions are completed and verified prior to system turnover.
  • Validate system readiness for startup and support energization and turnover activities in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Ensure full compliance with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and client commissioning requirements throughout all phases.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to commissioning technicians and field personnel on site.
  • Maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation including reports, test records, issue logs, and final turnover packages.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a commissioning role within a mission-critical, industrial, or high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of executing commissioning activities across multiple project phases from pre-functional testing through to system turnover.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of commissioning processes, testing methodologies, and project handover requirements.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute commissioning plans, test procedures, and associated documentation.
  • Solid understanding of system integration, functional testing, and startup processes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently on site.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Able to lead and mentor field personnel in a fast-paced commissioning environment.
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with commissioning management platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Relevant trade qualification or equivalent technical certification will also be considered.
  • OSHA 10 required.
