Responsibilities
- Act as the Owner’s Commissioning Lead across multiple projects, overseeing all commissioning phases (Level 1–5) from pre-functional testing through final system handover.
- Ensure all systems are fully tested, validated, and ready for operational service in high-density compute environments.
- Coordinate closely with general contractors, commissioning agents, engineers, and OEM vendors.
- Review and validate commissioning plans, testing procedures, and verification documentation.
- Coordinate with commissioning agents and engineers to execute HV/MV/LV system testing programs.
- Ensure all electrical systems meet design intent and operational requirements.
- Maintain commissioning records, issue logs, test results, and reports.
- Conduct site inspections, enforce safety protocols, and track commissioning progress.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues during startup and functional testing.
- Oversee commissioning of generators, UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, ATS/STS, EPMS, and related systems.
- Validate control system integration and electrical/mechanical coordination where applicable.
- Lead final system handover ensuring readiness for operational service.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in mission-critical or hyperscale data center commissioning.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in electrical systems commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Deep understanding of HV/MV/LV systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS, ATS, and generators.
- Familiarity with NETA testing standards and ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidelines preferred.
- Experience working across complex stakeholder environments (GCs, OEMs, consultants, owners).
- Strong organizational, communication, and on-site leadership skills.
- Ability to assess, validate, and troubleshoot electrical systems at a high technical level.
- Experience with EPMS, PLC-based controls, and integrated electrical/mechanical systems.
- Background in hyperscale or mission-critical data center environments.
