About the role
As a Commissioning Agent-Mission Critical in our Chapel Hill office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.
Responsibilities
- Resolve commissioning challenges and complete tasks assigned, including developing and implementing the Level 1 – 5 commissioning process delivery set forth in Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), plans and specifications.
- Oversee and execute the quality observation and testing in the field.
- Lead efforts to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, and help operators improve their ability to safely and effectively manage the data center.
- Work in a multi-disciplined and cross-trained team of commissioning professionals in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of commissioning experience for data center or mission critical facilities.
- Technical or Associate Degree from an accredited technical institution or college; or commensurate design or construction experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or controls systems.
- A more detailed understanding of power distribution, cooling systems, and controls desired.
- Ability to learn to interpret guidelines, standards, and best practices related to data center construction.
- Ability to become proficient with software programs for business as well as could-based commissioning and construction: Microsoft Word, Excel, CxAlloy, Autodesk BIM360, ACCBuild, and similar.
- Ability to travel as required by the project.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and state required vehicle insurance.
- Willingness to become OSHA certified.
Skills
- Commissioning certification with a nationally recognized professional body.
- Direct positive communication with Owners, Contractors, and Engineers.
- A problem-solving productive mentality in a non-adversarial environment.
- Ability to apply safety training to specific construction situations and avoid unsafe work environments and promote quality installation.
- Ability to understand and safely use test and measurement equipment and common tools.
- Effective working individually and within team environments.
